Hall of Distinguished Alumni Award
This, the most prestigious Alumni Award, is reserved for those who have achieved high stations in their chosen fields, in their service to society, and their lifetime loyalty to EKU.
This award recognizes those alumni who have achieved professional success, while serving their community, all while investing in and giving back to Eastern Kentucky University. These alumni exhibit the qualities of and meet the requirements for the Distinguished Service and Professional Achievement Awards, but also show a lifetime of achievements that go above and beyond in their dedication to the University, its ideals, and its students.
Professional Achievement Award
Achieving prominence professionally and making significant contributions to society as a result, isn't easy and this award celebrates alumni who have accomplished just that!
This award is meant to recognize individuals who have reached the heights of their profession; Recipients have made a significant and lasting impact on their field through professional accomplishments, longtime service to the area of focus, and have earned the respect and admiration of their peers and colleagues.
Distinguished Service Award
Creative leadership and service to society is the hallmark for this award, recipients of which have exemplified the ideals taught by EKU for more than 100 years.
This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a heart of service with EKU or within their communities. While keeping their Alma Mater in mind, recipients of this award are giving of their time and talents in an effort to support awareness, facilitate growth, and, among other things, be advocates for those around them.
Young Alumni Award
It’s not easy to make your mark less than 10 years after graduation, but recipients of this award have done so, serving as outstanding role models for current and future students!
This award recognizes individuals who graduated from EKU in the last 10 years or who are not yet 40. Recipients must have demonstrated exceptional talent in their professions by making significant contributions within the same and to society. Recipients should go above and beyond the status quo, exhibiting the spirit of an EKU Colonel in their efforts.
Nomination Tips/Criteria:
Please consider including the following in the nomination. Gathering this information in advance and entering it into the form will lead to best success as the form will time out around 10 minutes.
- A Brief Bio (100-300 words)
- Resume or Vitae
- Letter(s) of Recommendation
- Professional Head-shot
All credentials will be reviewed by the Alumni Awards and Recognition Committee, with the final decision resting with the Alumni Association Board.
